American Great War WWI ephemera. Within a tartanware satin lined box depicting Queen Victoria's 6th daughter Princess Louise and her husband the Marquis of Lorne is American soldier, Wentworth Allen's, military heraldry. Included is his original 1918 induction letter into military service, a photograph of Wentworth transporting wounded soldiers in France, the greeting letter given from King George V to every American soldier upon landing in England printed on Windsor Castle stationary under the Royal Coat of Arms, two tintype photographs depicting Wentworths mother and father, and his original stamped honorable discharge with a note of the date he arrived safely home in his own hand. The Box with its contents measures approximately 8 x 4.75 x 1.75inches
