**First Time At Auction**

Pre-Columbian, Honduras, Ulua Valley, Maya, Late Classic Period, ca. 550 to 900 CE. A lovely pottery bowl defined by a flat base, tall walls, a shallow basin, and a lightly-splayed rim. The orange-slipped vessel displays a colorful register of red, orange, and black pyramidal panels, and a similar motif rings the inside of the rim. The basin shows a faded, highly-stylized jaguar figure facing left with slender ears, stocky legs, and a spotted body. Size: 7" W x 2.5" H (17.8 cm x 6.4 cm).

Repaired from a few large pieces with small chips, light resurfacing, and light overpainting along break lines. Minor nicks to rim, walls, and base, with fading to some painted areas. Light earthen deposits throughout.
