East Asia, China, late Qing Dynasty to early Republic Period, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A fine cast-copper calligraphy brush with a cylindrical body embellished with vibrant cloisonne enamel details in hues of emerald, ruby, sapphire, amethyst, pearl, citrine, and turquoise. A small copper suspension ring is soldered to the flared butt end. A widening head holds a thick brush comprised of horse hair. A beautiful example! Size: 15.5" L x 1.75" W (39.4 cm x 4.4 cm).
