Description
A fantastic, large Egyptian faience figure of a striding Thoth, Late Period, c. 664 - 30 BC, standing in classic pose on integral rectangular base. He wears a short striated kilt and wig with hands pendant at side, his Ibis head beautifully detailed with a light green glaze throughout. H: 4 ½ in. (11.5 cm). Light deposits, restoration to face and beak. Mounted on old wood block base. Ex collection of Joseph Rucinski, acquired in the 1950's.
