Description
A pair of ancient Roman/Byzantine ceramic lamps. Lot includes a Roman lamp, 2nd Century AD, with discus area and wick-hole bordered by a channel, two masks in relief to each side of fill-hole. L: 3 7/8 in (9.8 cm). Light deposits. The second is a Byzantine type, c. 6th - 7th Century AD, with lovely floral decoration on the shoulders. L: 3 1/4 in (8.3 cm). Both nice examples with light deposits. Ex Malter Galleries, CA.
