A Byzantine gold solidus of Heraclius, AD 610 - 640, struck at Constantinople. The coin depicts the facing busts of the emperor Heraclius and his eldest son Heraclius Constantine, a cross above. The reverse features the legend VICTORIA AVGGI, with a cross potent atop three steps, CONOB in ex. (20 mm, 4.36g). The coin is in excellent condition! Ex Los Angeles private collection.
