Etruria, northern Italy, Etrusco-Corinthian, ca. 630 to 540 BCE. A stout and sturdy terracotta cream-hued slipware aryballos with a stable dimpled base, smooth and bulbous body with a vibrant five-petaled flower on its face, a narrow neck, collared rim with an applied handle joining rim and body, a faded bullseye design on the rim top, and a narrow mouth. Vessels like this would have contained oils or other uncommon liquids and would have been seen in great numbers in typical Grecian domiciles. Size: 2.5" in diameter x 2.875" H (6.4 cm x 7.3 cm).

Condition
Surface wear commensurate with age and use, fading to flower petal design, and minor surface pitting. A white sticker is on the bottom with the number "90" written in blue ink. Great root marks and mineral deposits.
