Description
Elvis Presley 1957 Tupelo Benefit Concert (Last Tupelo Performance) Admission Ticket in Exhibit Quality Framed Display W/LOA - This is an original concert ticket from Elvis Presley's performance at the Mississippi-Alabama Fair and Dairy Show which took place on September 27, 1957. Elvis first made a triumphant return to his birthplace, Tupelo, MS., in 1956 and the day was celebrated as "Elvis Presley Day." This was the only county fair Elvis played in his entire career, and the proceeds for the concert were to be used to build the youth center in east Tupelo, a project which Elvis was very passionate about. Elvis returned to Tupelo the following year on September 27, 1957 for a single performance to finish raising the rest of the funds, which was Elvis' last performance in Tupelo. The tickets were sold with an admission price of $2.00, and the proceeds were donated to the Elvis Presley Youth Center which eventually became the museum next to the birthplace. The ticket has been professionally matted and framed in an exhibit quality display along with other memorabilia from the day. The ticket will be accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the EP Archives of Las Vegas, Nevada. Measurements: 16.25" x 20.75".
