Description

DESCRIPTION: A Paul Evans Studio Sculpted Bronze Swivel Chair. Featuring a bronze barrel chair with original lavender upholstery and swivel base. Marked: "PE 69" on base. Note: Paul Evans â€œsculpted-bronzeâ€ pieces began in the mid-1960s, showing Evans at his most expressive. He employed a technique in which resin is hand-shaped, and later sprayed with a metal coating, allowing for artistic nuance in the making of chairs, tables and cabinets. Evans is famous for his contributions to American furniture design and his work with the influential American manufacturer Directional Furniture.
