Description

Pair of Coalbrookdale "Peacock" Pattern Cast Iron Benches

19th century, English, the pierced backs and sides decorated with leaves, scrollwork and exotic patterns, with inverted scrolled legs and hoof feet, the seats in a grid pattern.
h. 39", w. 46-1/2", d. 22"

Condition

In overall very good condition. Each bench is heavily painted, sturdy and solid. No breaks or repairs are apparent, but may be obscured by the paint. Assembled with bolts and modern hex head nuts. Seats are made of iron bars. There are some rough spots in the castings.
