Mystery roll. You are bidding on an "unsearched" roll of coins, hence, mystery roll. There is a $2 1/2 gold cap coin on one end and the other end is sealed with paper and we can not see the coin on that end. We have no idea if there are more gold coins or exactly what's inside. You are bidding on this with this in mind. Have never see these before. The rest may be pennies.
Both US Indian Head $2 1/2 and $5 gold coins (minted between 1908 and 1929) have the initials BLP in very small print above the year. The initials indicate the Indian head gold coins designer, Bela Lyon Pratt.
Are there more gold coins in this roll? Who knows.......that's the mystery of it.
This is how our consignor bought them, we DID NOT roll these.
