Description

Antique S.C. Gallup Western Leather Shotgun Chaps, each leg with side pocket, stamped "S.C. Gallup, Pueblo, CO", The chaps are made by Samuel Caldwell (SC) Gallup, younger brother to Francis Gallup of Gallatin & Gallup Saddlery Denver. Samuel opened his saddlery in Pueblo, Co in 1869 with R.T. Frazier joining the firm in 1880. R.T. Frazier alter formed a partnership with Gallup that lasted from 1892-1898. S.C. Gallup is considered the originator of the Pueblo Style saddle and one of the finest Colorado saddle makers known. Samuel Gallup died in 1904.42" long from belt to bottom
