A desirable railroad lantern frame with NYNH&HRR stamped in large lettering on the lid. This is clearly a Thompson frame with the small set-screw that holds the lid on. The NYNH&HRR lettering is standard fancy large lettering. It does not have the 1869 patent on the bail or under the skirt. It has a pinch pot with one loose tab. It has a brass Calendar burner (bee hive). The globe is a basket case with NYNH&HRR cast across the belly and many cracks. This is a correct 6" Thompson globe. We are offering a red 6" barrel new Haven globe elsewhere in this auction. That globe fits this frame. One picture of the inside of the lid shows some pitting through of the smoke deflector plate. I see no other pin holes in the frame. These frames generally clean up very well if you want to put some shine on it.
