Description
Four plates of renown French women, plates date 1850, source unknown. Plates include: 1) Louise de Savoie (1476-1531) was a French noble and regent, and the mother of King Francis I. She was politically active and served as the Regent of France in 1515, in 1525-1526 and in 1529. 2) Diane de Poitiers (1499-1566) was a French noblewoman and notorious as King Henry II's chief mistress. 3) La Duchesse de Bourgogne (1685-1712) was the wife of Louis, Dauphin of France, Duke of Burgundy. 4) Marie-Therese D'Autriche (1660-1683) was wife of Louis XIV. All four measure 13.875-in. x 10.5-in. Unframed, loose and not mounted or glued down. If lot is absent of a condition report a condition report may be requested via email.
