kangxi period (1662-1723)
of circular form with a flaring cavetto, the central medallion painted to depict a carp transforming into a dragon above crashing waves, underneath auspicious clouds, further clouds repeated to the cavetto, the underside bearing a Kangxi six-character mark in underglaze blue within a double ring.
Diameter 8 5/8 inches.
