Description
Pair of mixed metal vase. Japan. Meiji period (1868-1912). Oviform body on a tall inverted trump foot. Stylized mythical animal head jump rings gold inlaid thunder meander mouth. Upper register of silver and green enamel acada motifs. Body decorated with birds and various flowers in gold, silver, shakudo, shibuichi on a textured ground. Borders of stylized floral motifs and archaic dragon scrolling. 13-1/2" x 8" at the handles.
