An original antique captain’s forage style hat circa 1895. This hat is from the 10th Infantry who fought in Santiago in the Spanish American War. An insert on the interior identifies it as belonging to Ralph K. Pierson. Internal labels read “Reg. US Patent Off., Gravenette, (illegible), General City Service Co., 2200 E. Jefferson Ave., Detroit, Mich.” and “Head-Master” Selected Leather. 4.25in height x 10in top diameter; 7.5in head width x 10.375in depth (including bill). 0.45lb.
