Description

AN UNUSUAL SIGNED MURCHEKHAR RUG, WEST PERSIA approx: 7ft.3in. x 4ft.8in.(221cm. x 142cm.) Nice overall design with multicoloured stylised floral sprays enclosing bold medallion centrepiece. In hooked palmette, angular arabesques and floral vine between floral and reciprocal stripes. Slight even wear to the pile, touches of tinting, all well blended and not noticeable as such. Selvages rebound, well done and well blended. Ends with short fringes, secured. In general this rug is in very good usable condition, well balanced piece. Attractive. Signature cartouche at one end, Kharkhande Emam Gholi Khan Heidari Amale Murchekhar.
