Description
(Bill Melendez, 1980) A humorous typed letter featuring a drawing and signature by Bill Melendez. Known for his early work at Disney on films including Pinocchio, Fantasia, and Bambi, Melendez would later also work at Warner Bros, UPA, and would create his own studio, Bill Melendez Productions. It was Melendez’s studio that would produce all of the Peanuts TV specials and series that remain popular still today. This letter is in response to Alan Hylton who asked for a Disney drawing from Melendez. The reply reads "I worked at Disney 40 years ago and don't draw their characters anymore" and is signed Bill Melendez with a self-portrait. The letter is typed on Bill Melendez Productions letterhead and measures 11"x8.5". The condition is very good with faint tri-fold lines from when the letter was originally mailed.
