Artist George Rodrigue, famous for his Blue Dog paintings, was selected to represent Louisiana in Absolut Vodka's "Absolut Statehood 1991 campaign. This 39'x26' lithograph is signed. Each lithograph in our auction of (51) "Absolut Statehood" prints is a signed artist's proof numbering 358/400.
One of the most ambitious art projects by Absolut Vodka is "Absolut Statehood." The campaign, which lasted two years, spotlighted one work each of the 50 American states and the District of Columbia; each done by a talented local artist from that state.  A different work appeared every other week in USA Today.  A limited edition of 400 lithographs of each work, signed and numbered by the artist, were sold to the general public for $300 each.
