Description
After Franz Xaver Bergmann ( 1861 - 1936 ) owner of a Viennese foundry that produced numerous patinated & cold painted bronze Oriental & erotic sculptures. He would use the signature Nam Greb his name backwards asthe signature on any erotic subjects. The subject of this sculpture - an Arab guard is protecting a young slave girl in a harem. On one side, the Arab guard & on the reverse, the young slave girl. Lost wax casting method bronze, with brown patina & added gold gilt, mounted on a marble pedestal. 14" X 6". 12lbs.
