BA JIN: (1904-2005) His real name being Li Yaotang. Known by his pen name Ba Jin. Chinese Writer and political Activist. Widely regarded as one of the most important 20th century Chinese authors, best known for his novel The Family (1933). An excellent A.L.S., `Ba Jin´, in Chinese characters, one page, 4to, 25th March [1964], to Sha Tin, in Chinese. Ba Jin states in part `Comrade Sha Tin, Ji Shen told me that he received a letter from Mrs. Ai mentioning that comrade Yu Xin passed away… In the past days I was busy trying to finish an article for Song Gang, and also receiving the visit of a Japanese writers delegation, they only left yesterday, so now I am thinking about you..´ further saying `If these news are not true, I ask you for your apologize. If this is true, I really feel sorry. Please take care of yourself, be strong…We talk about other issues next time. Please take care!´ A very attractive letter. With small remnants of former affixing to the upper edge, and very small creasing and foxing stains to the right border, not affecting the text or signature.
