Description
1895 Napoleon Bonaparte Recollections of Constant Lover & Husband Masson
“Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.”
– Napoléon Bonaparte
Louis Constant Wairy, or simply Constant, was a notable servant to Napoleon during his reign over the French Empire. He is chiefly remembered for his memoir of Napoleon – ‘Recollections’. This three volume set of Constant’s work was translated into English by Walter Clark
In the ‘Chronicle’, Frederic Masson read an article describing the ‘temporary relations’ Napoleon had with women during his young adult years and as Emperor. Masson was intrigued by this and published a book entitled ‘Napoleon and the Fair Sex’. In this book, Masson describes and provides accounts of the lives of the females who helped shape Napoleon’s life and imperial reign in an attempt to explore the emotional side of Napoleon.
This rare English edition was translated out of the French by J.M. Howell and titled ‘Napoleon, Lover, and Husband’.
