Iron skull with three pronged crests, worked in one piece with the cusped head with roped border and nape-guard plate. Repaired cheek-pieces. Old repair at the brim, holes on the teeth of the central crest, in patina.See similar models in the collection Odeschalchi in "Le armi Odeschalchi", text page 13, ill. 52; three models in the collection of the Tower of London in "The Armouries of the Tower of London", Vol. I page 182, others in "Kunsthistorisches Museum Dresden", "Allentown Art Museum" and "Zeughaus Wien". W. Boeheim and St. V. Granssay attributed that model of helmet to the guard of the Emperor Charles V around 1530.
