Description
Mid 19th century, Meissen (German, founded 1710); hard-paste polychrome porcelain; modeled by Johann Friedrich Eberlein (1696-1749); reticulated basket with landscape; intertwined grape vines with a monkey; below a woman and child; on a rococo style footed base. Marker's mark to underside. Approx. w. 7", h. 10.75", d. 5.5". Provenance: From the Estate of Mr. Cecil S. Whitehead, Jr., Atlanta, Georgia.
Condition
Lid not present; possible restoration to monkey's face; minor chips; vent hole filled on bottom and reglazed.
