Sinn, Model 142 Automatic "Space" Chronograph, Stainless Steel, with Inner and Outer Boxes, Circa 1980 Case: 43 mm, stainless steel, two body, tonneau, brushed and polished, with screw-down main crown, elapsed-time crown, and screw-down back, No. 11004 Dial: matte black, with raised outer bi-directional elapsed-time scale, outer minute track, luminous baton markers, seconds, 12-hour, 24-hour registers, and day/date apertures; luminous baton and syringe hour/minute hands, white and orange baton and luminous arrow register hands, and orange chrono hands, one with airplane motif for minutes and one for seconds Movement: Lemania caliber 5100 automatic, 17 jewels, Swiss lever, with chronograph, quickset day/date, and hacking seconds functions, and rhodium finish, No. 04053792 Band: leather, with stainless steel deployment clasp Signed: Sinn on dial and crown Sinn's Model 142 is among the first automatic chronographs worn in space, including on the Spacelab D1 and D2 missions, and on Space Station Mir, in the 1980s and 1990s.
