Very Fine Qing blue and white hexagonal porcelain moon vase, of tapered hexagonal shaped rim, narrow straight neck to the rim, raised on rectangle flared foot ring. Two archaistic scrolling ribbons flanked from shoulder to the neck created handles. The main body decorated in clean white under glazed base color with hand painting in cobalt blue color of enormous front facing flying phoenix between imperial five-claws dragons surrounded fumes clouds and flames with a blazing pearl looms at the center of the moon flask beneath the dragons gaze. Hexagonal shaped rim decorated with repeated scrolling ruyi fret patterns under the edge. The mouth rim decorated with auspicious pattern, and floral blooms interspersed vines, foliage on the neck. Double fine blue ring lines on the upper neck and on the foot base rim. The dragon and the phoenix usually serve as auspicious symbols, any reported sightings of a dragon or phoenix were considered extremely auspicious, heralding a glorious period of peace and prosperity for the people and the country. This is reflected in the Chinese saying: "When the dragon soars and the phoenix dances, the people will enjoy happiness for years, bringing peace and tranquility to all under heaven." From references to the dragon and phoenixes in local festivals and rites to the heights of literature and fine art, they all reveal the glory of these legendary animals. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned.


The under base bear a reign mark, a six blue underglaze seal script characters reign mark, Made in The Years of Qianlong Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
