1698 Fraus Elusa English Vocabulary & Grammar Scottish Robert Blau Geography
Robert Blau was a 17th-century Scottish schoolmaster who is known today solely for his textbook ‘Vocabularium Duplex’. This work for vocabulary and spelling words was designed for students to learn proper capitalization of words, meanings of words, as well as pronunciation. This 1698 second edition was enlarged from the first and features a ‘short minutes of geography’ at the end – a compendium of the world continents and countries, towns, and proper names which were used in conjunction with teaching spelling and grammar techniques.
