Ormonde, Bend Or - Lily Agnes, 1883, owned by his grace the Duke of Westminster, trained by John Porter, front of shield contains ebonized case with rounded border, back lined with a royal blue velvet, sides lined withwhite rolled silk, mounted are five separate bronze elements, upper left The Duke of Westminster‘s Crown, upper center horse shoe, inside it’s perimeter a shield which reads Ormonde, by Bend Or-Lily Agnes 1883, upperright the Duke of Westminster Royal crest, below is a horse standing with full trappings and harness, all five elements in detailed fine relief and high fire 24 karat gold, hand tooled, carved, detailed, bright and andsatin gold contrasts. Original card mounted on back panel of the shield. Ebonized wood case measures 18 1/2 inches tall by 15 inches wide by 2 inches deep, comes with binder detailing the plaque. Extraordinarily rarepiece. Provenance: From the Estate of Raymond Bentley.
