Description
1712 RARE Holy Bible Oxford + Pratt Americana Provenance + Sternhold Psalms

A highly rare Oxford Holy Bible!

Printed in 1712 by the University Printers, this large Bible is unique in that it was one of the few University editions to feature the Apocrypha. In addition to the Apocrypha, this printing features charts, tables, calendars, collects, orders for prayers, catechisms, and a printing at the front of the Psalms of David from the 1539 “Great Bible” or the first authorized English Bible. At the end of the Bible, another edition of the Book of Psalms is included; however, this version is that of Thomas Sternhold, notable for use of metered English.
