Description
1847 CARPENTRY Tredgold Principles English Architecture Illustrated Bridges

Thomas Tredgold was an English civil engineer in the early 19th-century who worked toward developing railroad construction methods. However, his most important work was his ‘Elementary Principles of Carpentry’ – a treatise on the construction of homes, floors and roofs, and bridges.

According to Singer, this work discussed

“the essential theory developed by the French engineers and savants of the 18th-century, read by many practicing engineers.”

This 1847 American edition of Tredgold’s ‘Carpentry’ is filled with impressive illustrations of architectural designs throughout.
