Description
This is a fascinating grouping of paperwork that contains a mix of Third Reich and American military documents all named to the same soldier Kurt Kinne Army Serial Number #32448968. He received the Army Good Conduct Medal on 6 January, 1945 while serving as a member of the 8th Army Service Command in Texas. His WWII slot brooch Army Good Conduct medal is included, along with his original citation, and a roster documenting his station dated January 9, 1945. Also included are his Third Reich Militarpass, his Arbeitsbuch which describe him as an electrician dated 1939, and DA / Deutsche Arbeitsfront book date 1939. He was born in 1898 and lived and worked in Germany. There are also two documents from the Foreign Service of the United States / American Consulate both dated February of 1941 they discuss his service and request further paperwork be mailed -- evidently he was trying to leave Germany in the months after the invasion of Poland -- these American documents, written in German, are both dated about 10 months before Germany's formal declaration of war against the United States. Once in the States Kurt Kinne served in the United States Army and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. Excellent - Near Mint.
