Signed in pencil, inscribed "artists proof." This lithograph was part of Florsheim's "Illuminations" portfolio, begun in 1966 and completed in 1970. It was published by Associated American Artists and printed at Mourlot Press in Paris.

Richard Florsheim (1916-1979) was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 25, 1916. He studied at the University of Chicago, then in New York with Aaron Bohrod. He traveled and studied in France and Italy in the early 1930's. During WWII he served in the US Navy in the Pacific. His first prints date from 1935, they were etchings and drypoints, he would later transition to lithography where he would be better known. His catalogue Raisonne lists 288 different prints published between 1935 and 1979. Many of which were published by Associated American Artists.
