Description
Pair of 18th Century French oil on Panel Paintings Attributed to Louis Leopold Boilly, 1761-1845.
One of the paintings depicts a couple, man standing with his arms folded and a woman sitting next to a table with a dog at her feet. The other painting depicts a man with his arm around a woman with a child next to her and a dog in her arms. Both of the paintings are very detailed.
Both of the paintings are signed, “L. Boilly”, one signature is below a table and the other is on a chair of the other painting.
Provenance: Mrs. Charles B. Goodspeed 2430 Lake View Avenue, Chicago.
The size of the paintings is 15 3/4 by 12 6/16 and 15 6/16 by 12 10/16 inches.
The size of modern frame is 18 1/2 by 15 1/4 inches.
