TWO CHINESE BLUE ENAMELED CELADON GROUND PORCELAIN LIDDED GINGER JARS, SECOND HALF 19TH CENTURY, comprising a blue and white molded celadon ground jar with one side centering Buddhistic lions playing with a stylized ball of yarn amidst shaped clouds and flanked by scrolling feng symbols, surmounted by a conforming lid with butterflies enclosing a bud form finial, height: 8.75", diameter: 9.00"; together with a blue decorated jar centering a spread winged butterfly above a leafy persimmon flanked by similar berried leafy fruiting stems, surmounted by an associated conforming lid with bats enclosing a bud form finial, height: 7.75", diameter: 7.50".
Condition
Each with expected minor surface marks and small scratches from use, one jar has an associated lid, some hairlines and kiln firing frits.
