TWO CHINESE JADE AND SOAPSTONE SCHOLAR STYLE CARVINGS, 20TH CENTURY, the Buddhistic lion of a milky celadon stone with natural inclusions and russet veins, modeled in a combative stance and fierce roaring expression, raised on a custom silvered wire inlaid hardwood stand, height: 5.13", width: 5", depth: 2"; together with a soapstone dragon censer, the red veined mustard stone centering two scaly dragons contesting a pearl amidst stylized scrolling clouds, above an oval basin with incised blossoming lotus foliage, flanked by tapering cornucopia form vessels decorated with incised roaring dragons incorporating a conforming pierced base, height: 5.75", width: 11.50", depth: 3".
Condition
Good condition, brown tinted details throughout the lion, normal small scratches throughout; the dragon censer,Marks, scratches, chips, cracks, broken and repaired.
