mold attributed to REINHARD MOLLER (German 1855-1912) A MEISSEN STYLE PARCEL GILT POLYCHROME BISQUE PORCELAIN FIGURINE, "Venus and Cupid," LATE 19TH CENTURY, THURINGA, attributed to the A.W.F. Kister porcelain manufacturer, the baby winged cupid presents Venus with a shell tray cradling a sprig of coral, as she dresses herself in flowing gilt, multicolor bejeweled relief robe, standing in contrapposto, on a circular plinth with waves, raised on fluted scrolled feet, joined by a bead and lobed molded form, signed verso in porcelain, "R. Möller," the base impressed with numbers 1049 and 15, and hand inscribed in pencil number 538 and in blue number 26. Height: 15 1/2" Diameter: 6 1/2"
Condition
Some gilt and paint rubbing, mild surface wear, scuffs, and marks, cupid now lacking a toe, and part of wing, some dust debris within crevices, but overall in good to very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
