This stoneware piece is a three-gallon jug from J.A. & C. Underwood from Fort Edward, New York. It has an attractive blue floral motif on the front, with some discoloration on the back from the firing process when it was in the kiln. Three-gallon jugs by Underwood are harder to find than the smaller two-gallon jugs by Underwood. The jug is 7 1/4 inches across at the rim, 12 1/2 inches high, and has a 9 1/2 inch diameter at the base. There’s a very small chip on the rim, about 1/4 of an inch in size.
