Wilhelm was a landscape and marine painter who studied in Cleveland with Emile Gruppe, Elmer Novotny, and Henry Keller. He was a member of the Akron Society of Artists, North Shore Art Association, Buffalo Society of Artists, and the Ohio Watercolor Club.
