Antique Edward Loyal Field (1856-1914) Etching. Signed by J. Haller and published by Radke, Lauckner & C. Remarque to margin. Many Original Etchings by E.L. Field were Signed by J. Haller when Haller Inked & Pulled the Etching off the plate. The only time Fields signed an etching is when he pulled it himself. In gilt frame with mat under glass measures 31 1/2"x18"x1". Weight 7 pds. PROVENANCE: A Charleston SC Private Estate. Edward Loyal Field was a late-nineteenth century landscape etcher and painter. Born in 1856, he studied art in Paris, France, under Carolus-Duran, returning to the United States in 1882. He lived and worked in Manhattan for the balance of his career. A full member of New York's prestigious Salmagundi Club, Field exhibited in major exhibitions in Boston, Washington, Philadelphia, Chicago and San Francisco. He died in 1914
