Probably Wayman Adams Indiana Painting, Illegible Impressionist Indiana Painting B

Item B of items A-G, one of seven Indiana related paintings from an Indianapolis collection offered individually in this sale.

Interior tabletop still life composition with faience cups, a carafe, an apple and an Old Master drawing or engraving, oil on a found object Flem-Ar-Co Flemish art Arts and Crafts Movement Flemish art pyrography woodburn art box statue kit board, 14.1 x 10 inches, 19.1 x 15 x 1 inch framed, possibly signed illegibly upper right in close grey letters with the last name, if so signed, we had originally thought perhaps beginning with M and ending in g or y but thanks to scholar JL we now with one day to go before the sale highly suspect the signature to by Wayman Adams but we have left the lot with the same low opening bid and no additional reserve, a less likely possibility perhaps signed lower left in dark green printed letters comingling with the lighter green and yellow impasto but now we strongly believe it is indeed signed at upper right, modern Jane and Henry Eckert Westfield and Indianapolis gallery label on frame verso, both painting and frame with an inventory number E 161.85, perhaps indicating 1985 Eckert inventory item 165, circa 1980s gilt frame molding with linen and gilt liner. NOTE: This is the only item in the collection with a frame and or label likely past the 1960s.
