Description
A very old and well used donso n'goni or 6 string hunters harp from the Senufo peoples of Mali / Ivory Coast, West Africa. The Ngoni consists of a large gourd vessel body and animal hide membranes with a tall stick as the neck of the instrument with strings attached. The bridge of the instrument has an anthropomorphic shape to it. The instrument will still play, however it is quite old and fragile and would be better suited in a museum. The N'goni measures 45 inches tall x 10 inches wide.
