Description

Frederick Christian Lewis (London 1779 - 1856) etchings and text pages from William Young Ottley's portfolio entitled, 'The Italian School of Design', 1812. Included are three illustrated text pages and four full page etchings, including work titled 'The Finding of the True Cross', inspired by a work by designer Gregorio Pagani (Florence 1558 - 1605). All pages measure 22.5-in. x 15.625-in. sheet size. All in G-VG/VG-EX condition. Unframed, loose and not mounted or glued down. If lot is absent of a condition report a condition report may be requested via email. Condition report is provided as an opinion only and is no guarantee as grading can be subjective. Buyer must view photographs or scans to assist in determining condition and ask further questions if so desired. Provenance: C.D. Raymond & Son collection.
