An antique Northwest Coast / Vancouver Island, Native American Indian necklace, 19th century. The double strand necklace is composed of dentalium shells, some with incised decoration, alternating with white beads and interspersed with red / orange glass beads. The strands are held together by a fur wrapping. Each strand measures approximately 38" in circumference. Housed in a glass and plastic presentation case, 12" x 8.5" x 1" deep.
