Oil on canvas which has been lined. There are minor undulations across the canvas although it is generally in plane. The paint layers has localised areas of cupping and raised paint. There are small scattered losses across the surface. There is overpaint in many areas, in the darker paint passages this has been handled in a wholesale manner and has darkened. The varnish us slightly yellowed but semi-glossy. The frame has suffered from extensive losses to the gilding and appears to have been repainted with bronze paint.
