A Sino-Tibetan Gilt Bronze Figure of Amitayus
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus pedestal base with hands held in dhyanamudra, wearing a dhoti falling down over his crossed legs and opening at the chest to reveal elaborate jewelry, a shawl scarf around the arms, the face with serene expression surmounted by a embellished five-point diadem surrounding a chignon, the reverse of the lotus throne chased with a horizontal line of Tibetan characters.
Height 6 3/4 in., 17 cm.
