Nena von Schlebrugge: Informal, in the Forest (First Test Shots)
A gelatin silver print and contact sheet, 1955, the contact sheet initialled by the artist in crayon, the print annotated verso in pencil in an unknown hand, each on gloss photographic paper, each with margins, various sizes, the largest sheet 380 x 305 (15 x 12in) (unframed) (2)
The Mexican-born fashion model of Swedish and German ancestry, and mother of actress Uma Thurma, Nena von Schlebrugge was discovered in Stockholm by Vogue fashion photographer Norman Parkinson in 1954, as she was leaving school. Soon thereafter Nena moved to London and New York where she enjoyed great success as a glamorous top fashion model of the 1950s and 1960s.

Gifted directly from the artist to Williams, who was an assistant to Norman Parkinson during the time his studio was based in Twickenham, London.
