Description
1860 1ed Moore Diary of American Revolution Portraits MAPS + RARE PROVENANCE
Frank Moore was a highly respected and important 19th-century American biographer and historian who is best remembered for his ‘Rebellion Record’ on the American Civil War. One of his lesser-known, but still important, works was ‘Diary of the American Revolution’. According to Larned, Moore
“was fortunate in gaining access to very copious Revolutionary materials, as well as in his habits of accuracy and careful citation of authorities. The extracts included are from both sides, and are here printed without comment by the editor. The work has an excellent index, and several portraits, and contemporary maps and plans; and it has a basis of usefulness for both the special student and the general reader.”
