His Sale, Christie's, London, May 20th-21st, 1896, lot 208A (combined lot of "two sketches of John Philip Kemble as different characters").
Private Collection, Pennsylvania.
NOTE:
The present drawing depicts18th century actor John Philip Kemble in the role of Rolla, the Peruvian hero in the 1790s play "Pizarro in Peru" (or the Death of Rolla), arguably the most popular British play of the entire eighteenth century adapted from the German by Richard Brinsley Sheridan.

Inscribed 'Thas Larence/Nought Christie's/May 20' in black chalk verso.
Paper attached to mount edges, with scattered losses. Various tears along edges. A 2 in. tear along bottom edghe, left of center. A 1/2 ection along the entire left edge was re-attached.
