Twelve American Antique Sterling Silver Ornate Feather Plume and Lily Dinner Forks. Retailed at James McCaffrey Jewelers in Philadelphia. Ornate Repousse. Monogrammed. Each 7 1/2". Weight approximately 720 grams. James J. McCaffrey was a very successful jeweler who lived in Philadelphia and Merion, PA.. He had several siblings, including John (also a jeweler). He was trained at Cartier in NYC and then worked in Philadelphia, employing 45-50 men during the great depression at a jeweler's workshop at 10th and Chestnut Streets in Philadelphia (The Victory Building). PROVENANCE: The Estate of Judge Vincent A. Carroll of Philadelphia by descent.
